Maluma Stops Mexico City Concert to Call Out Mom for Bringing Baby Without Ear Protection

Colombian superstar Maluma paused his concert in Mexico City over the weekend to address a mother who brought a baby to the show without ear protection — and he didn’t hold back.

In a video from the event shared on X, the 31-year-old singer can be heard asking the woman in Spanish, “With all due respect… how old are they? A year old? Less? A year.” He then questioned, “Do you think it’s a good idea to bring a 1-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this high? That baby doesn’t even know what it’s doing here.”

Maluma urged her to be more careful in the future. “Next time, protect their ears or something. For real. It’s heavy. It’s your responsibility,” he said. “You’re waving them around like they’re a toy. That baby doesn’t want to be there, for real. I’m telling you with all love and respect, now that I’m a father… I would never bring my own child to a concert. For the next time, be a bit more aware.”

Speaking as a New Dad

The “Sobrio” hitmaker became a father in March 2024 when he and his girlfriend, Susana Gomez, welcomed their daughter, Paris Londoño Gomez. The couple announced the birth in a joint Instagram post, writing in Spanish, “On March 9th at 8:23 a.m., the love of our lives, Paris Londoño Gomez, was born. Thank you all for your birthday messages and well wishes.”

Since then, Maluma — whose real name is Juan Luis Londoño Arias — has often spoken about how fatherhood has changed him. “Everything changed. And I love it,” he told Allure in 2024. “Now, I wake up every day with the desire to conquer the world. I know I have to kill it. For Paris, nothing is impossible. You have to lead by example.”

The “Hawái” singer said he maintains a strict routine to stay healthy for his daughter. “I go to bed every night that I can at 9 and wake up at 5:30 to hit the gym because I want to be healthy. You want to live forever for your kids. I want to make her proud.”

Wrapping Up His World Tour

Maluma’s Mexico City performance was part of the final stretch of his “+Pretty +Dirty World Tour,” which will wrap up on August 23 in San Salvador, El Salvador.

He also recently took the stage at Mexico’s Rosarito Beach for the Baja Beach Festival, where he headlined alongside J Balvin and Don Omar.
