If you grew up watching King of the Hill, get ready for a major nostalgia hit. After 15 years, the Hill family is coming back to your screens, and this time, they’re older, wiser, and full of surprises. Hulu has officially announced that the all-new Season 14 will premiere on August 4 with a total of 10 episodes. Yes, it’s really happening!
This animated sitcom first aired in 1997 and ran all the way through 2010, giving us more than 250 episodes of dry humor, Texas charm, and propane-fueled stories. Now in 2025, the creators have brought it back with a fresh twist, keeping the old vibe but updating the storyline for today’s world.
Hank and Peggy Are Back From Saudi Arabia
So, what’s going on with the Hills now?
Well, Hank and Peggy have been away for a while, working in Saudi Arabia. Hank’s propane career took him overseas, and the couple used that time to build up their retirement savings. Now, they’re back in Arlen, Texas, ready to enjoy the quiet life.
But things aren’t quite the same. Arlen has changed, the people have moved on, and so have the Hill family’s priorities. Hank is still the same propane-loving guy, but he’s now retired. Peggy, the once local Boggle champion and school substitute teacher, is also stepping into a new chapter of life.
Bobby Is All Grown Up
Here’s the part that fans will love: Bobby Hill is 21 now!
He’s no longer the goofy middle-school kid making everyone laugh with his offbeat charm. Bobby is living in Dallas and has found his passion as a chef. That’s right—he’s working in the kitchen and loving every bit of his adult life. You’ll get to see a more mature version of Bobby, but of course, he still has that classic humor fans adore.
The Old Gang Is Still Around
Don’t worry. The original side characters are still part of the story. Dale, Bill, and Boomhauer are back. These three old friends reconnect with Hank and Peggy when they return to Arlen. Dale is probably still deep in conspiracy theories, Bill is likely still lonely but loyal, and Boomhauer will continue to speak in that fast, smooth tone we all recognize but barely understand.
Also making appearances are Peggy’s old friends Minh and Nancy, along with Bobby’s childhood buddies Connie, Joseph, and even Chane. Watching how everyone has grown up or changed will be a big part of the fun.
Same Voices, Same Style, Just Updated
One of the coolest things about this revival is that the original cast is back. Mike Judge is voicing Hank again. Kathy Najimy is Peggy. Pamela Adlon returns as Bobby. You’ll also hear familiar voices like Johnny Hardwick (Dale), Stephen Root (Bill), Lauren Tom (Minh), and Toby Huss (Kahn and others).
The animation style looks similar but with a little modern polish. Hulu even released a short preview clip to give fans a taste of what’s coming. It keeps the charm of the old seasons but looks a bit cleaner and smoother.
Big Names Behind the Scenes
Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, the original creators, are still behind the project. That means the heart of the show will stay intact. They’ve also brought on Saladin Patterson as the new showrunner. You might know him from his work on The Wonder Years reboot and The Big Bang Theory. So the storytelling is in good hands.
The series is being produced by 20th Television Animation with help from Bandera Entertainment and 3 Arts. It’s clear this revival is being taken seriously, not just as a one-off reunion but a real return to the world of Arlen, Texas.
Catch Up Before August
If it’s been a while since you last watched the show, all 13 original seasons are now streaming on Hulu. That’s more than 250 episodes to binge before the new one drops.
So mark your calendar for August 4. Whether you’re a longtime fan or just discovering the Hill family for the first time, this new season is something to look forward to.
