Kevin Bacon Celebrates 67th Birthday Dancing With Kyra Sedgwick

Kevin Bacon just proved turning 67 can still look pretty fun — especially when you’ve got Kyra Sedgwick by your side. The couple, who’ve been married for 36 years now, turned Kevin’s birthday into a full-on dance moment.

On July 8, Bacon posted a video to Instagram where he and Kyra dance outside to a remix of There She Goes by The La’s. He called it “a little birthday shimmy” — very on-brand for Kevin Bacon. The guy’s been famous for dancing since Footloose, so it feels right that he’s still showing off his moves decades later.

Fans loved it. They dropped birthday wishes and plenty of heart emojis in the comments. It’s hard not to smile watching the two of them groove under the sun. After all these years, they still look like two people who just genuinely love hanging out.

What Surprise Did Kyra Sedgwick Plan For Kevin?

Kyra didn’t stop at just one dance video. She gave her husband a whole extra laugh for his birthday too. She posted her own video on Instagram with the caption, “Told Kevin I had a surprise for his birthday… don’t think this is what he had in mind.”

In the clip, Kyra lip-syncs Ace Hood’s Bugatti while pretending to speed away like she’s in a fancy car. But the real punchline comes when Kevin shows up — wearing a racing helmet and sunglasses, looking ready to race — only to get dragged backward super slow instead of zipping off. Classic couple humor. Their fans loved it, and so did Kevin, apparently.

Kyra called Kevin her “forever partner in crime” in the caption. For a couple who’ve been together this long, they still manage to keep things light and funny. That’s probably one big secret behind 36 years of marriage in Hollywood.

What Have Kevin And Kyra Been Up To Lately?

Besides having fun on social media, the couple’s been busy with work too. They recently starred together in The Best You Can, which premiered at New York’s Tribeca Festival in June. It’s their first film together in about 20 years. Kevin told PEOPLE that acting side by side again felt special because they got to bring a piece of their real-life bond to the screen.

Their kids got in on the birthday fun too. Their son, Travis, posted a sweet father-son photo to his Instagram Stories with a simple “Happy birthday dad 🖤.” Their daughter, Sosie, hasn’t popped up online yet, but chances are good she found her own way to make dad smile.

One thing’s clear — Kevin and Kyra don’t take life too seriously. A dance in the yard, a goofy surprise video, and a lot of laughter. Not a bad way to ring in 67.
