Jurassic World Rebirth Easter Egg Honors Original Jurassic Park Banner

We’re seven movies deep into the world of cloned dinosaurs. By now, everyone expects a few Easter eggs thrown in for the longtime fans. Jurassic World Rebirth does not disappoint. There’s one moment in particular that calls right back to the movie that started it all — Spielberg’s Jurassic Park from 1993.

Fans who know that original ending shot — the roar, the banner, the T-rex claiming its kingdom — will spot the reference right away. This new film knows exactly what it’s doing.

What’s Up With the Banner in Jurassic World Rebirth?

In Spielberg’s Jurassic Park, that final shot is legendary. The T-rex saves the day in the visitor center. The “When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth” banner drifts to the ground. Cue the chills, the roar, the escape to freedom.

Jurassic World Rebirth brings that moment back but with a twist. This time, we see Dr. Henry Loomis standing under a T-rex skull in the Museum of Natural History. He’s talking to Zora Bennett and Martin Krebs about what’s next for humans and dinosaurs.

As they chat, that same iconic banner floats down behind them. Except now, it feels almost like a joke. The banner’s message is old news. Dinosaurs have been back for thirty years. They’re not ruling the Earth in secret — they’re clogging up traffic on Fifth Avenue.

Did You Spot the Crichton Easter Egg Too?

That’s not the only hidden gem. Look closer during an early scene. Martin Krebs — played by Rupert Friend — is stuck in traffic. A massive long-necked dinosaur blocks his fancy car in the middle of Manhattan.

As his driver inches forward, a school bus rolls by. If you squint, you’ll see it says “Crichton Middle School” on the side. That’s a clear nod to Michael Crichton, the writer whose books kicked off this whole dinosaur obsession.

It’s a small touch but shows how much Rebirth wants to keep fans of the books and first film smiling.

Jurassic World Rebirth lands in theaters July 2. If you’re heading out to see it, keep your eyes wide open. Who knows how many more hidden details are waiting to drop — just like that old banner.
