Jenna Ortega Stuns in Snake-Inspired Gown at ‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Premiere: “I Only Wore Black During Filming”

Jenna Ortega is channeling her inner Wednesday Addams — but with a serpentine twist. The 22-year-old actress turned heads at the Season 2: Part 1 world premiere of Wednesday in London, wearing a striking nude gown with a snakeskin design that felt straight out of the Addams Family playbook.

Styled by Enrique Melendez, Ortega’s look came courtesy of Ashi Studio’s Fall/Winter 2025 Couture collection. The skin-hugging dress featured a bold snake-like pattern winding from its high neckline to a structured peplum skirt, creating the illusion of shedding skin — a nod, perhaps, to both transformation and Wednesday’s creepy-chic aesthetic.

A Dark Beauty with Gothic Glam

Ortega’s look was completed with Jimmy Choo shoes, silver jewelry from Rainbow K, and beauty glam that leaned fully into the gothic: bleached brows, berry red lips, spider lashes, and a pop of purple mascara. Her slicked-back ponytail and nude nails kept the focus on the texture and drama of the gown itself.

It’s a major shift from the solid-black palette Ortega embraced during the filming of Wednesday season 1.

When I was working on Wednesday, I suddenly only ever wore black,” Ortega said in a 2023 interview with The Cut. “I didn’t know why. For some reason, my closet just lost all its color.

Since then, she’s carried Wednesday-inspired fashion to several red carpet events — including the 2023 SAG Awards, where she wore a sculpted black Versace gown, and the Saint Laurent Menswear FW23 show, where she opted for a backless, hooded black dress.

In a separate chat with Harper’s Bazaar in May, Ortega admitted, “I definitely feel like I have a bit more Gothic taste than I did when I was a teenager.

What to Expect from Season 2 of Wednesday

According to Netflix’s official synopsis, the new season will dive deeper into the dark and quirky world fans fell in love with. Wednesday season 2 will follow the titular character as she navigates “family, friends, and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem.

The story teases an eerie new mystery: “Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.

Release Dates

  • Part 1 of Season 2 drops on Wednesday, August 6
  • Part 2 follows on Wednesday, September 3

Until then, you can stream the full first season of Wednesday on Netflix. And if Jenna Ortega’s premiere look is any indication, we’re in for a season as stylishly spooky as it is mysterious.
