Is Nick Newman About to Die on The Young and the Restless? Fans Think So

Longtime fans of The Young and the Restless are bracing themselves for what could be a heartbreaking twist. Rumors are swirling that Joshua Morrow, who plays Nick Newman, might be on his way out — and not in a quiet, peaceful exit. Fans think Nick could actually be killed off soon, and the current storyline is only adding fuel to the fire.

Nick has recently found himself right in the middle of a deadly situation. He suspects Cane is behind Damian’s murder and hasn’t kept that suspicion to himself. In fact, he accused Cane to his face, even saying he saw him near the maze around the time of the crime. Cane denied it, but the tension between the two men is clearly rising fast.

Why do fans think Nick is in real danger?

The biggest clue comes from the show’s head writer and executive producer, Josh Griffith. In a recent interview, he mentioned that more characters are in danger and that the stakes are going to get even higher. That has fans watching every scene closely — and Nick’s recent scenes have been filled with warning signs.

In a recent episode, Nick is seen preparing to head to his sleeping car when Sharon shows up. She says she wants to go with him, trying to reconnect and let go of their past. But just when things seem to calm down, there’s a knock at the door. It’s Carter — with a guard in tow. Carter announces that Cane feels threatened by Nick and has ordered him to be placed under house arrest.

Naturally, Nick pushes back. He tries to leave, but Carter accuses him of trying to run. Then, things get even more intense. Carter warns that they may be forced to draw a weapon if Nick doesn’t comply. It ends with Nick and Sharon being taken away, and that’s when fans really started to worry.

Given that Carter is acting under Cane’s orders, and that both men have issues with Nick, the fear is that they might go further than just a threat. Some fans even think Cane may order Carter to kill Nick before the truth comes out.

Is Joshua Morrow leaving the show for good?

There’s been no official announcement from Morrow or the show’s producers. But with Griffith teasing “serious jeopardy” for core characters, many believe that Nick’s days could be numbered.

Joshua Morrow has been a central figure in Y&R for decades. Watching him go — especially if the character is killed — would be a major shift for the show. Fans are keeping their eyes on every episode, hoping for a twist that spares him. But with the way the plot is unfolding, it’s getting harder to stay optimistic.

For now, all fans can do is wait, watch, and hope that Nick survives whatever comes next.
