Helen Hunt & Dan Bucatinsky Win $125,000 on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire
Helen Hunt and Dan Bucatinsky walked away with $125,000 on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (Season 4, Episode 4), which aired August 13, 2025. The pair, playing for St. Joseph Centre and The Trevor Project, decided to quit at the $250,000 question rather than risk dropping down to $32,000 — a move that proved smart after host Jimmy Kimmel’s guess turned out to be wrong.
Their game started strong, with the duo correctly answering the first eight questions without touching a lifeline. For the $16,000 question about the meaning of the CROWN Act, they used 50/50. At $64,000, they phoned Jeopardy! champ Tim Lopez, who nailed the answer instantly. Helen called it “the best Phone a Friend” the show had ever seen.
They reached $125,000 after using Ask the Audience on a math question. Only Ask the Host remained for the $250,000 round, but after hearing Kimmel’s reasoning, they chose to walk away — locking in their total and avoiding a massive loss.
In the same episode, Adam Devine and Anders Holm weren’t as lucky. Playing for $125,000, they guessed Robert Redford as the celebrity who turned down the role of Han Solo, without using their lifelines. The correct answer was Al Pacino, dropping them back to $32,000.
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
