Has The Bear Season 5 Been Renewed or Canceled? Latest Update on Hulu Series
If you just wrapped up Season 4 of The Bear, you’re probably already asking the big question: is Season 5 happening?

What Season 4 Delivered
Season 4 dropped on June 25, 2025, and brought back everything fans love. Tension, emotion, chaos in the kitchen, and of course, Carmy’s endless fight to keep the restaurant running. All 10 episodes were released in one go, just like previous seasons.
Some fans were expecting Hulu to pull the two-part release strategy like other shows have recently done. But nope. The Bear stuck to its usual format. Ten intense episodes dropped at once. No splitting, no delays.
Why Renewal Looks Likely
While there’s no official announcement yet, it wouldn’t make sense for the show to stop now. The fanbase is strong. The critics still love it. And the characters have plenty of story left.
In a 2024 interview with Variety, FX head John Landgraf made it clear that the future of The Bear depends on its creator, Chris Storer. He said, “These decisions are really creative decisions.” That’s FX code for: we want more, but it’s not our call yet.
Landgraf added that he’s hopeful for more seasons but doesn’t want to pressure the team into stretching the story just to keep the show alive. He’d rather have one great season than drag it out and risk mediocrity.
So, What’s the Hold-Up?
It all comes down to story. If Chris Storer and his team feel they have more to explore with Carmy, Sydney, Richie, and the rest of the crew, then a Season 5 announcement could come soon.
There’s also the factor of how Season 4 performs. If viewership stays strong and fan reactions are as loud as they’ve been, that will only help the case for renewal.
For now, fans will have to wait. But if the buzz is any clue, The Bear is far from finished.
