Gumball Is Back! Hulu Announces The Amazing World of Gumball Season 7 Revival
After six laugh-packed seasons and a long six-year break, The Amazing World of Gumball is finally making its comeback. Fans have been waiting since 2019 for the blue cat and his fishy brother to return to the screen, and the wait is nearly over. Hulu just dropped a teaser trailer for the revival, and it’s as weird, wild, and wonderful as ever.
Series creator Ben Bocquelet says the new batch of episodes should be seen as Season 7 of the original show. And yes, the revival is sticking close to what made Gumball special in the first place.
The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball Is Coming
Hulu’s new version is getting a slightly new name too. The upcoming season is called The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball, and from the first look, the vibe hasn’t changed. It’s still packed with surreal humor, bizarre animation styles, and totally unexpected storylines.
In the teaser, Gumball wakes up groggy and covered in cobwebs. “Oh dude, we’re late for school!” Darwin says in a panic. Gumball asks how late, and Darwin casually replies, “About seven years.” That line perfectly sums up the humor longtime fans love.
Even though it’s technically been six years since the last episode aired, the creators are clearly having fun with how much time has passed. Gumball’s response? “Five more minutes then,” as he rolls back into bed.
No exact release date has been announced yet, but judging by the teaser and the timeline, fans can expect the new season sometime in late 2025 or early 2026. And yes, it will stream exclusively on Hulu and through the Disney+ and Hulu bundle.
What To Expect From Season 7
According to Hulu’s official series description, viewers can expect “wilder stories, bigger twists, and surreal humor” in the new episodes. The revival isn’t just a nostalgia trip. It’s aiming to push the weirdness even further. And that’s saying something for a show that once featured a cloud falling in love with a piece of toast.
Get ready to return to Elmore, where nothing is ever normal. Whether it’s fighting off an evil fast food chain, dealing with a love-struck AI obsessed with Gumball’s mom, or just trying to stop Banana Joe from wearing pants, this season sounds as unpredictable as ever.
Ben Bocquelet is joined by executive producers and directors Matt Layzell and Erik Fountain. The team promises that Gumball and Darwin haven’t grown up much at all since we last saw them. And honestly, that’s a relief. The heart of the show has always been its childlike chaos and charm.
“What an amazing opportunity to play with these characters again!” the team said. “Fans can look forward to plenty more antics and misadventures in Elmore because Gumball and Darwin haven’t grown up much since we last saw them…we haven’t either.”
So dust off your old Gumball memes and get ready for more madness. Elmore is open for business again.
