‘Fallout’ Season 2 to Hit Prime Video in December, First Look at New Vegas Revealed

Amazon Prime Video’s post-apocalyptic hit Fallout is officially returning for Season 2 this December, and fans are getting their first peek at what’s ahead — including the much-anticipated introduction of New Vegas, a legendary location from the iconic video game series.

Welcome to New Vegas

A newly released set of first-look images gives fans a glimpse of the series’ take on the wild and chaotic New Vegas, one of the most beloved settings in the Fallout gaming universe. The neon-lit, morally murky desert city is expected to play a major role in the upcoming season, adding even more chaos, charm, and danger to the already sprawling post-apocalyptic world.

Recap: What Is Fallout All About?

Set 200 years after nuclear devastation, Fallout follows the journey of Vault-dwellers — survivors who’ve lived in luxury underground bunkers — as they emerge to a surface world they barely recognize. The official series logline describes it as “an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe.”

The show’s blend of dark humor, brutal violence, and heartfelt storytelling earned it wide acclaim when it debuted in April 2024, scoring a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and picking up multiple Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series and Lead Actor for Walton Goggins.

Returning Cast and a New Addition

Ella Purnell returns as Lucy, the cheerful yet determined Vault-dweller who ventures above ground in search of her father. Walton Goggins reprises his role as The Ghoul, a mutated and morally complex bounty hunter who has survived since the Great War.

Also returning are:

  • Aaton Moten
  • Moisés Arias
  • Kyle MacLachlan
  • Sarita Choudhury
  • Michael Emerson
  • Leslie Uggams
  • Frances Turner
  • Dave Register
  • Zach Cherry
  • Johnny Pemberton
  • Rodrigo Luzzi
  • Annabel O’Hagan
  • Xelia Mendes-Jones

Macaulay Culkin will also join the cast in Season 2, though details about his role remain under wraps.

Creative Team and Storytelling Approach

Instead of adapting a specific Fallout game, creators Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet opted to craft an original narrative set in the universe, allowing both new viewers and longtime fans to engage with fresh characters and stories while staying true to the tone of the franchise.

The show is executive produced by Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy, Todd Howard, Athena Wickham, and James Altman, alongside the showrunners. It’s produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Kilter Films, in association with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks.

When to Watch

Fallout Season 2 will premiere December 2025 on Prime Video, with a likely global release similar to Season 1.

With the series headed into New Vegas and a new chapter of chaos about to unfold, the stakes — and the action — are only getting bigger. Get ready for another radioactive ride.
