Eddie Murphy, Pete Davidson, and Keke Palmer Team Up in New Action Comedy ‘The Pickup’
Amazon MGM Studios just dropped something exciting. Their new movie The Pickup is coming to Prime Video on August 6, and it looks like a wild ride. The first-look stills are already out, and the cast is packed with some big names we all love.
What’s The Pickup All About?
The Pickup is not your regular heist movie. It starts with what seems like a routine cash pickup. But things take a crazy turn fast. Eddie Murphy plays Russell, one of the armored truck drivers. His partner is Travis, played by Pete Davidson. These two couldn’t be more different, and that’s what makes it fun.
Suddenly, their truck is attacked by a group of dangerous criminals. The crew is led by Zoe, played by Keke Palmer. But Zoe is not just after the cash. She’s got a bigger plan in motion. The movie follows Russell and Travis as they try to survive one of the worst days ever. There’s action, comedy, and a lot of chaos.
Who’s Behind the Movie?
The film is directed by Tim Story. He’s the guy who gave us movies like Barbershop, The Blackening, and Ride Along. So we already know he can mix laughs with action really well.
The writers are Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider, and the producer list is just as cool. Eddie Murphy is one of the producers, along with Tim Story, John Davis, John Fox, and Charisse Hewitt-Webster.
What Makes It So Exciting?
It’s not just the lead trio. The rest of the cast is fire too. We’ve got Eva Longoria, Marshawn Lynch (yes, the NFL star), Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, Andrew Dice Clay, and Ismael Cruz Córdova.
This movie feels fresh. It’s got big personalities, unexpected team-ups, and some serious bad day vibes that most of us can laugh at from the couch.
If you’re into action, laughs, or just want to see Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson on screen together, The Pickup is one to add to your watchlist. August 6 can’t come soon enough!
