Duck Dynasty Star Phil Robertson Dies at 79 After Alzheimer’s Battle

Phil Robertson, the well-known star of Duck Dynasty, has passed away at the age of 79. His family shared the sad news on Sunday, May 25, through heartfelt posts on social media. This announcement comes just months after they revealed that Phil had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in December.

Phil’s son, Jase Robertson, shared an emotional tribute on X. He wrote, “My dad has gone to be with the Lord today! He will be missed but we know he is in good hands.” His message showed the strong faith the family has and the peace they feel knowing Phil is now at rest.

Phil’s granddaughter, Sadie Robertson Huff, also posted about her grandfather’s passing. She shared several photos of their family, showing memories from over the years. The images captured the bond they shared and the joy he brought to his family.

In a joint Instagram post, Phil’s son Willie and his wife Korie thanked fans and friends for their support. They said, “We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord.” They also added that a private service would be held for now but that details about a public celebration would be shared later.

The family had first talked about Phil’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis in December on their podcast Unashamed with the Robertson Family. Jase explained that Phil was in the early stages at that time. Sadly, the illness progressed quickly. In an April podcast episode, Jase shared that Phil was no longer doing well. He said they were keeping him comfortable and doing their best to care for him.

Phil Robertson became famous through the reality TV show Duck Dynasty, which aired on A&E for 11 seasons. The show followed the lives of the Robertson family as they ran their hunting company, Duck Commander. Phil started the business in 1972 and became known for his patented duck call. His wife, Kay, has been by his side since they were teenagers. They married when she was 17 and pregnant with their first child.

Even after the show ended in 2017, the Robertson family stayed in the spotlight. Several spinoff shows were made, and fans continued to follow their journey. A new version of the show, Duck Dynasty: The Revival, is expected to premiere on A&E this summer.

Phil Robertson leaves behind a strong legacy of faith, family, and business. He touched many lives through his words and actions. His passing is a great loss, but his story will continue to inspire others for years to come.
