Country Singer Ella Langley Cancels Shows to Focus on Health

Even for rising stars, sometimes the spotlight needs to dim so life can take a breather.

Ella Langley, the fast-rising country music sensation from Hope Hull, Alabama, has decided to pause her whirlwind year to focus on her well-being. In an emotional Instagram post on Monday morning, the 2024 breakout artist said she’s taking a couple of weeks off to care for her “mind, body and heart.”

“I’m so sad to be posting this,” Langley wrote. “The past several weeks have been tough. I’ve been fighting sickness and feeling more run down than ever. After a lot of thought, I’ve made the hard decision to take a couple of weeks to rest and focus on my health – mind, body and heart. I want to be fully present for all the moments ahead, and I know I can’t do that without first taking care of myself.”

Quoting a Bible verse, Matthew 11:28, she added, “Sometimes we have to listen when our bodies and hearts are telling us to slow down. I’m so grateful for your understanding and your love – it truly means the world to me.”

The break means Langley will miss upcoming performances with Morgan Wallen on August 15 and 16, her August 19 appearance at The Listening Room in Nashville, and more shows on Wallen’s tour. She’ll also skip August 21–25 concerts with fellow Alabama star Riley Green in Montana, Idaho and Colorado.

Fans won’t have to wait too long, though. Langley promised, “I’ll be back on the road in September, ready to give you my all.”

Langley’s career has been on fire this year. Her album Hungover became a huge hit, winning awards and earning praise for her duet with Riley Green, “You Look Like You Love Me.” Despite a packed tour schedule, she’s been releasing new music too. In late June, she dropped the single “Never Met Anyone Like You” with Hardy, and just last week she teased “Hell at Night,” an upcoming track with Texas rapper BigXthaPlug.

For now, Langley is putting the stage on hold so she can return at full strength — and her fans are already cheering her on from the sidelines.
