Bella Ramsey Wants To Be Spider-Man Role in the MCU: Maybe They Need a New Superhero for Me
Bella Ramsey, known for stealing scenes in both Game of Thrones and HBO’s hit series The Last of Us, is setting sights on the Marvel Cinematic Universe — and their dream role might surprise you. In a recent interview at the HBO Emmys nominees event, the rising star told Variety’s Marc Malkin that they would love to play Spider-Man in a future Marvel project.
Ready to Swing Into Action
When asked if they had reached out to co-star Pedro Pascal — who will soon make his Marvel debut as Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four: First Steps — about jumping into the MCU, Ramsey responded with a playful yet enthusiastic, “I don’t know about that. I could be Spider-Man.”
The Emmy-nominated actor then gave props to Tom Holland, who has portrayed Peter Parker since 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, saying, “Tom Holland did a great job though. So maybe they do need to make a new [superhero] for me.”
Just Getting Into Marvel
In a fun twist, Ramsey admitted they’ve only recently started exploring the world of Marvel movies — and it all began with one of Spider-Man’s alternate versions. “It was the first time I watched a Marvel film, and that was two months, three months ago,” Ramsey shared, revealing they started with one of Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man films. Their verdict? “Incredible. I loved it.”
Though late to the Marvel fan club, Ramsey clearly found inspiration in the web-slinger’s story — enough to spark ideas about joining the superhero universe themselves.
Dreaming of a Heist With Pascal
While they wait for a potential Marvel role, Ramsey already has a team-up idea with Pascal in mind. “I think maybe like a heist movie where we’re robbing a bank together,” they said, showing off their playful side and strong off-screen chemistry with their Last of Us co-star.
Ramsey and Pascal’s performances in The Last of Us have been critically acclaimed, and the show is currently nominated for 17 Emmys. Season 2 recently wrapped, and while Season 3 doesn’t have a release date yet, HBO CEO Casey Bloys confirmed that it is “definitely planned for 2027.”
What’s Next for Ramsey?
Whether it’s a Marvel superhero, a bank-robbing partner-in-crime, or a return to the infected world of The Last of Us, Bella Ramsey’s future in Hollywood looks brighter than ever.
