Armie Hammer Says He Smoked 20 Joints a Day and Got Johnny Depp Super High

Armie Hammer is getting blunt about his past—literally. The actor revealed in a recent episode of his podcast Armie HammerTime that during the peak of his Hollywood fame, he was smoking an eye-popping 15 to 20 joints a day.

On the July 28 episode, Hammer admitted he was a “heavy” user of marijuana during his rise to stardom. “Upwards of, like, 15 to 20 joints a day,” he told his listeners. His longtime friend and podcast co-host Ashton Ramsey joked that Armie probably smoked “more marijuana than anyone on earth”—a statement Hammer didn’t deny.

“I Loved Poisoning People” — Hammer’s Pot Party Past

The Call Me By Your Name star didn’t hold back, saying he took pleasure in getting his friends way too high. “I loved smoking marijuana with people to the point where they were like, ‘I’m so stoned I can’t find my feet,’” he said. Then he added, laughing, “I loved poisoning people.”

One of his most memorable weed sessions involved none other than Johnny Depp. During the press tour for their 2013 movie The Lone Ranger, Hammer said he got Depp “super stoned” before an event. It caused such a stir that Depp’s team reportedly insisted they stay separated for the remainder of the promotional tour.

Career Setbacks and a Comeback

Hammer’s marijuana confession adds to the growing list of candid moments on his podcast, which he launched in October 2024 as part of a larger attempt at a public comeback.

His career was knocked off course in 2021, when shocking allegations surfaced involving messages about cannibalistic fantasies and sexual misconduct. Hammer denied the claims, but the fallout was swift—film projects dropped him, and he largely disappeared from the spotlight.

Now, he’s slowly rebuilding. Hammer has taken on new roles, including appearances in The Dark Knight and an upcoming western called The Frontier Crucible.

A New Chapter of Radical Honesty

Armie HammerTime is turning into the actor’s platform for raw confessions and wild stories. He’s already addressed the tabloid controversies, poked fun at the cannibalism headlines, and now he’s sharing his over-the-top marijuana habits with shocking honesty.

This latest revelation gives fans more insight into the off-screen chaos that once defined his life. Whether it’s getting stoned with A-listers or joking about his public scandals, Hammer seems determined to lean into the past—while trying to carve out a new path in the present.
