Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Daughter Shiloh Changed Her Name After Dropping ‘Pitt’

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is stepping into the spotlight on her own terms. The 19-year-old daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt made a quiet but bold statement during Isabel Marant’s collection launch in Los Angeles on May 29. She didn’t just show up—she made her professional debut using a new nickname, “Shi,” credited as a choreographer for a special dance performance at the event.

The performance featured dancers Keoni Rose and Tako Suzuki moving to singer-songwriter Luella’s emotional new track, “Naïve.” According to Variety, Shi was listed in the official program for her choreography work, signaling not only a career interest but also a fresh identity.

Saying Goodbye to “Pitt” and Embracing Change

This creative debut comes just one year after Shiloh filed legal documents to drop her father’s surname and go by “Shiloh Jolie.” The decision was made shortly after her 18th birthday and appeared to be a personal one, though it wasn’t publicly discussed in detail. Now, going by “Shi,” she seems to be reshaping how she presents herself in both name and profession.

Her decision mirrors that of her younger sister Vivienne, 16, who was listed as “Vivienne Jolie” in the Playbill for The Outsiders musical. Vivienne served as a producer’s assistant on the project alongside their mother Angelina. According to Angelina, theater has become a true passion for Vivienne, making the experience deeply meaningful.

Angelina’s Take on Her Kids’ Privacy and Identity

Even though her daughters are beginning to explore public creative spaces, Angelina Jolie has made it clear that all of her children value their privacy. During an appearance on Good Morning America in November, the Maleficent star explained that none of her six kids are seeking the spotlight and that “they weren’t born with privacy.” She especially noted that Shi is “extremely” private among the group.

Still, these quiet steps into the public eye—whether through theater or dance—feel intentional and thoughtful. They’re not red carpet moments or tabloid headlines. Instead, they reflect the personal interests and maturing identities of young adults raised in one of the world’s most-watched families.

With Angelina and Brad’s children now growing into their own creative paths, it’s clear they’re finding ways to express themselves while maintaining a level of control over how the world sees them. For Shi, this choreography credit and her new nickname may be just the beginning of what’s next.
