Today’s Dylan Dreyer and Husband Brian Fichera Separate After 12 Years of Marriage

Dylan Dreyer, a familiar face on NBC’s Today show, has revealed a personal update that’s captured the attention of fans across the country. In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on July 18, the beloved meteorologist and her husband Brian Fichera have officially separated after 12 years of marriage.

The couple, who met while working at a Boston news station back in 2012, have long been admired for their down-to-earth relationship and strong family values. Now, as they move forward with this transition, they’re doing it with grace and openness.

“We Will Remain the Closest of Friends”

Dreyer, 43, made the announcement in a calm and compassionate tone, thanking fans for their support over the years and explaining why she felt the need to speak out.

“For many years I have shared my family with you all — the highs and the lows. The ups and downs. And all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between,” she wrote.
“For that reason, I want to share with you that a few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate. We began as friends, and we will remain the closest of friends.”

Dylan’s message makes it clear that the split was mutual and grounded in mutual respect.

Co-Parenting Comes First

The couple share three sonsCalvin (8), Oliver (5), and Russell (3) — and they’re both committed to continuing to raise their children as a united team.

“Most importantly, we will continue to co-parent our three wonderful boys together with nothing but love and respect for one another,” Dreyer added.

Their focus on the well-being of their kids is something fans have long admired, and it’s evident that their bond as parents remains a top priority.

Golf, Laughter, and the Love That Was

Though they’ve chosen to go their separate ways, Dylan and Brian shared many happy years together. One of their favorite pastimes? Golfing together. In fact, just days before the announcement, Dylan had shared photos of the two enjoying a golf tournament.

“Golf is the thing we do together,” she said in a 2023 interview with Today.com.
“We have a couple of drinks, we laugh. We remember why we fell in love. Then we go home and it’s right back to family.”

Even as their lives grew busy, they always carved out time for each other, often joking and reconnecting on the course.

Communication Was Their Strength

In earlier interviews, Dreyer shared how communication helped them through busy schedules and tough moments.

“My family can hold a grudge,” she admitted. “If something is bothering us, we’re like, ‘I’ll talk to you later,’ and then we never address why we were upset in the first place.”
“Brian won’t even let me be mad for 10 minutes,” she added. “He’s like, ‘Please just talk to me about what you’re upset about so we can go back to having fun.’”

The two often relied on texting during the day to stay connected, especially when their schedules didn’t allow much time together in person. Dylan said texting sometimes helped them communicate even better, giving each other space to express thoughts clearly and without interruption.

Family Has Always Been at the Center

When Dylan stepped back from Weekend Today in 2023, she made it clear why — her family was her priority.

“These boys are my whole life,” she said. “Brian and I, we love being a team on weekends and spending as much time as we can with them and having as much fun as we can.”

That same spirit of teamwork is carrying over into their separation, with both parents staying actively involved in their children’s lives.

“It’s all about family time,” Dylan shared at the time. “This job can get crazy especially when we’re traveling and we’re busy, but it’s so important to make time for family, too.”

Moving Forward With Gratitude

Dylan’s message to fans is one of appreciation and hope. She didn’t offer any further details about the reason behind the split, choosing instead to focus on kindness, love, and mutual respect.

As fans rally behind her, it’s clear that Dylan Dreyer remains a trusted, relatable figure who continues to handle life’s changes with honesty and heart. For her and Brian, the chapter as a couple may be ending, but their roles as co-parents and close friends remain just as strong.
