Joy Taylor Departs Fox Sports as FS1 Shakes Up Its Lineup

Joy Taylor is officially out at Fox Sports. After nearly a decade with the network, her time has come to a close as FS1 makes sweeping changes to its programming. Three shows, including the one she co-hosted, have been cancelled. The decision came quietly, but the impact is already making waves across the sports media world.

Taylor, 38, had been co-hosting Speak alongside Keyshawn Johnson and Paul Pierce. The show is one of three programs getting the axe, along with the morning shows Breakfast Ball and The Facility. According to sources who spoke with The Athletic, the shows simply didn’t pull in strong viewership. That performance made them vulnerable, and now they’re done.

Why is Joy Taylor’s exit getting extra attention?

Taylor’s departure isn’t just about ratings. Her name has been in headlines for more than just hosting duties. Over the past year, FS1 has been under scrutiny following multiple harassment allegations involving former programming head Charlie Dixon. In one lawsuit, a makeup artist accused Dixon of sexual battery. That same lawsuit claimed Taylor dismissed the complaint, allegedly telling the woman to “get over it.” Taylor has denied that statement.

Dixon left the network back in April. His influence, however, still looms. The three shows now canceled — Speak, Breakfast Ball, and The Facility — were all launched during his time in charge. Taylor’s contract was up, and with the show gone, Fox Sports chose not to renew her deal.

That ends a long chapter for Taylor at the network. She’s been a visible part of FS1’s programming, known for her strong takes and on-air chemistry. But with Speak gone and no new show lined up for her, the curtain has fallen — for now.

What’s next for FS1’s programming?

While these shows are done, not everything at FS1 is changing. The Herd with Colin Cowherd remains firmly in place at noon ET, and First Things First — hosted by Nick Wright, Chris Broussard, and Kevin Wildes — will continue in its 3 p.m. time slot.

What’s getting replaced is still unclear, but new programming is expected. FS1 isn’t walking away from daytime content, just reshuffling the pieces.

Breakfast Ball, led by Craig Carton, Mark Schlereth, and Danny Parkins, never really found its footing. Carton had joined the network after stepping away from his WFAN afternoon show. Now with this cancellation, some are wondering if a return to WFAN could be on the table. That door may be open. WFAN continues to dominate New York sports radio and already has Tiki Barber teamed with Carton’s former partner, Evan Roberts.

The Facility, a football-focused show with hosts Emmanuel Acho, Chase Daniel, James Jones, and LeSean McCoy, launched less than a year ago. Despite featuring four ex-NFL players, it didn’t get enough traction to survive the shakeup.

Fox Sports hasn’t officially commented on any of these moves. For now, it’s clear the network is reworking its lineup and making some bold decisions. Joy Taylor’s exit is just one piece of a bigger shift.
