50 Cent Cast As Balrog In Street Fighter With Momoa, Orville Peck And Centineo
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson knows how to surprise his fans. From rapping about life on the streets to running hit TV shows, he keeps adding new moves. Now, he’s stepping into a different ring. This time, it’s the Street Fighter universe.
He’s joining Jason Momoa, Noah Centineo and a cast that looks straight out of a Comic-Con dream. 50 Cent will play Balrog. If you know your Street Fighter, you know Balrog is the tough boxer with fists that can break walls. In the game, he’s a villain’s bodyguard and a brutal fighter.
Word is, 50 is already training hard for the role. He wants to do his own stunts. That’s not shocking if you know how he throws himself into every project. From music videos to TV sets, he loves to get his hands dirty. Balrog might be one of his most physical parts yet.
Who Else Is In This Wild Street Fighter Cast?
This Street Fighter movie has no shortage of colorful picks. Jason Momoa, who can turn any role into a powerhouse, will transform into Blanka. If you remember, Blanka is the wild green fighter with shocking electric moves. Noah Centineo, the rom-com heartthrob, is stepping into Ken’s red gi and blond hair. That’s a switch from love stories to spin kicks.
Orville Peck, the masked gay country singer, is putting on Vega’s claws. Vega is known for his beauty, speed and deadly flips. WWE’s Roman Reigns, aka Joe Anoa’i, will unleash Akuma’s rage. Andrew Koji, who already shows his martial arts skills in Warrior, will lead as Ryu. And Callina Liang rounds it out as Chun-Li.
Kitao Sakurai, who brought wild energy to The Eric Andre Show, is the director. If you know that show, you can guess this film won’t play safe. Shooting kicks off in August in Australia. Legendary Entertainment is making it happen along with Capcom, the company that started it all.
Why Is 50 Cent A Good Fit For Balrog?
For 50 Cent, playing Balrog lines up well. He knows how to play a tough guy with a bit of a dark edge. Balrog isn’t your clean-cut hero. He’s rough, he’s dirty and he fights like every punch is personal.
50’s film and TV run proves he likes roles with grit. He’s turned Power into an empire for Starz. His G-Unit Film & Television keeps pushing out shows. For Life on ABC and Black Mafia Family on Starz show his love for crime stories and street tales. So stepping into a brutal boxing villain feels natural for him.
He’s also building his own action playground. In 2024, he teamed up with Lionsgate to launch 50 Cent Action, a FAST channel now topping Roku and LG charts. So adding a big franchise film to his list? Smart move.
Plot details for Street Fighter are still secret. But if 50 Cent’s Balrog has anything to say, expect some heavy hits, hard words and a few punches that feel very real. Fans will be watching to see if he pulls it off with that same raw swagger he brings to everything else.
