Fans of James Bond and Hitman have reason to celebrate. Mads Mikkelsen is officially stepping back into the role of Le Chiffre, the cold and calculating villain from Casino Royale, for a brand-new crossover event that merges IO Interactive’s Hitman franchise with their upcoming Bond game, 007 First Light.
The crossover event kicks off Friday and runs until July 6. It features Le Chiffre as a brand-new Elusive Target in Hitman. This mission, called “The Banker,” will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and both versions of the Nintendo Switch — including the recently released Switch 2.
Agent 47 Meets the World of Bond
The event’s storyline is set in the luxurious Casino Monarchique in Paris, where Le Chiffre is hosting a high-stakes poker game to win back the fortune he lost in a failed venture. With both legitimate and criminal money on the line, Agent 47 is sent in to crash the party and take out the notorious banker before he causes more global damage.
This crossover was revealed live at Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles, with Mads Mikkelsen appearing on stage alongside IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak to announce the return of his iconic villain.
Exclusive Rewards for Dedicated Agents
Players who complete the mission and are registered with an IOI account will earn an exclusive casino-themed suit. That reward will carry over into 007 First Light, which is set to release in 2026. This is just a taste of what’s to come from IO’s Bond universe — and if Le Chiffre’s back, who knows who might show up next.
