Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence Are Now In-Laws! Yep, Their Kids Just Got Married

You read that right. Eric Murphy and Jasmin Lawrence are officially husband and wife. Eddie and Martin? Now they’re family. And honestly, this might be the best plot twist Hollywood didn’t see coming.

So… They Tied the Knot Quietly?

While everyone was expecting some big, over-the-top celebrity wedding, Eric and Jasmin had other plans. On The Jennifer Hudson Show, Eddie Murphy casually spilled the beans.

“Actually, they got married, like, two weeks ago,” he told Jennifer, cool as ever. “They went off…. Everybody was making the big wedding plans, and they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them.”

No giant venue. No press. Just two people in love, a preacher, and the moment. Honestly? Kinda sweet.

From Boomerang to Brothers-in-Law

Yep, Murphy and Lawrence go way back. From Boomerang to Life, these two have been cracking us up for decades. Now they’re more than just comedy legends.

“Yeah, we’re in-laws,” Eddie confirmed, smiling. “And he doesn’t have to pay for that big wedding now.”

Wait, hold up. Let’s backtrack.

Who Was Gonna Pay for the Wedding?

This part’s hilarious. Back in December 2024, Martin Lawrence joked on iHeartRadio’s Big Boy’s Neighborhood that “Eddie said I gotta pay for it.”

Murphy had been picking up tabs for his daughters’ weddings, so he thought it was Martin’s turn this time. But looks like Eric and Jasmin saved both dads a few bucks. Smart move.

A Love Story That Started in 2021

Eric Murphy, Eddie’s oldest son, and Jasmin Lawrence, Martin’s daughter, started dating in 2021. They kept things low-key but super cute. When they announced their engagement in November 2024, fans were hyped. Everyone knew the wedding was coming, but no one expected this stealth marriage move.

Honestly, it feels very them.

Did Eddie Sing at the Wedding?

Okay, we all know Eddie Murphy can sing. “Party All the Time” still slaps. So Jennifer Hudson had to ask: Did he sing at the ceremony?

“No, they didn’t have a wedding,” Murphy said. “They went off and they got married at the church. They just had the two of them and the preacher.”

So no performance this time. But there might be a celebration later. Eddie teased a possible big party and joked that he and Martin might do a duet. Imagine that. Somebody better livestream it.

A Future Collaboration? Fingers Crossed

Aside from family talk, Eddie also shared he’s cooking up new projects. One idea? A remake of It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. But this time, with a Black comedy superstar lineup.

“That’s what I want to do,” he told Hudson. “And of course, Martin would be in that.”

Can you imagine a movie with Eddie, Martin, Kevin Hart, Tiffany Haddish, and Dave Chappelle all in one room? Hollywood, please make this happen.
