Jalen Green Makes History with 38 Points as Rockets Tie Series Against Warriors

The future of the Houston Rockets looks brighter than ever—and Jalen Green just gave fans a reason to believe. In a commanding 109-94 win over the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 of the NBA Playoffs, the 22-year-old guard exploded for 38 points, setting a new record as the youngest player in Rockets history to score 35+ points in a playoff game.

Green didn’t just stop there. He also knocked down an incredible eight three-pointers, putting his name alongside franchise legends like Hakeem Olajuwon and James Harden as the only Rockets players to hit this milestone before turning 25.

Rockets Dominate Game 2 with Young Stars Leading the Way

While Green’s shooting display stole the show, he wasn’t the only young Rocket to shine. Alperen Sengun, the team’s rising star at center, had a monster game of his own. Sengun finished with 17 points, 16 rebounds, and 7 assists, becoming the second-youngest center in NBA history to post at least 15/15/5 in a playoff matchup.

The Rockets came out aggressive from the start. Ime Udoka’s squad controlled the pace, dominated the paint, and frustrated the Warriors at every turn. Even though tensions flared early—especially with a heated moment between Draymond Green and Dillon Brooks just minutes into the game—Houston stayed focused and didn’t let the chaos knock them off their rhythm.

On the Warriors’ side, Stephen Curry tried to lead the charge but struggled under the Rockets’ defensive pressure. Curry finished with 20 points on 6-of-15 shooting, but the rest of Golden State’s roster couldn’t pick up the slack. Outside of a few bright spots early from Pat Spencer, the Warriors were outplayed in nearly every quarter.

To make matters worse for Golden State, they also lost Jimmy Butler early in the first quarter after he suffered a pelvis contusion following a collision with Amen Thompson. Butler left the game after making one free throw and did not return. He is scheduled for an MRI to determine the severity of the injury.

What’s Next in the Rockets vs. Warriors Playoff Series?

With the series now tied 1-1, all eyes turn to Game 3, which will take place at Chase Center in San Francisco. The Warriors will need to regroup quickly if they want to stop the Rockets’ momentum, especially with the possible absence of Butler looming over the team.

Houston, on the other hand, will be feeling confident. Behind the youthful energy of Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun, and a tough, fearless roster, the Rockets have proven they can go toe-to-toe with one of the NBA’s powerhouse teams.

If Game 2 was any indication, this series is far from over—and the best might still be yet to come.
