A 16-year-old Tyler boy has been missing for several days, and his family says they believe someone may be keeping him from coming home.
Isaac Cline was last seen wearing a bright orange shirt, jeans, and brown leather high-top shoes. He stands about 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs around 110 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
According to his mother, Dena Rains Cline, who shared the appeal for help on Facebook, Isaac left without his wallet, debit card, flashlight, or any other items that would typically help someone survive on their own for an extended period.
That detail has fueled concern that he did not simply wander off, but may have gone somewhere with help from another person.
Family Points to a Burner Phone as a Key Clue
Isaac does not own a cell phone, but his mother says the family recently learned he had been given a prepaid “burner phone” a few weeks before he disappeared. A friend reportedly gave him the device, which allowed him to get on social media without his parents’ knowledge. Investigators and the family now believe he may have used that phone to arrange contact with someone outside his usual circle of friends.
The family says they have already reached out to all of Isaac’s known friends and their parents, and none of them have reported hearing from him or knowing where he might be. That has led relatives to suspect he made contact with someone the family does not know, possibly through the phone or through social media.
Isaac also lives with a serious mental illness and needs daily medication, according to his mother. She is worried that whoever may be sheltering him does not realize he has this condition or understand how important it is that he keep taking his prescribed medicine. Without it, his family fears his health could quickly decline.
He has officially been classified as a runaway case with local authorities. His mother is asking anyone in the Tyler area and beyond to share his photo and description and to reach out if they have seen him or have any information about where he might be staying.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Smith County Sheriff’s Office. For non-emergency calls, residents can reach the department at 903-590-2661 or 903-566-6600. Family members say even small details could help bring Isaac home safely.
