Missing Wellesley Woman and Toddler Found Safe Following Search That Spread Across Social Media

Wellesley Police had reached out to the public over the weekend for help locating a woman and her young daughter who had not been seen since Saturday morning.

Alexis Diaz Commodore was last spotted on June 27th at around 9:30 in the morning, and officers said she was traveling alongside her three-year-old daughter at the time.

Vehicle Spotted In Rhode Island

According to the original report, Commodore was driving a white 2018 Jeep Wrangler bearing Massachusetts plate 9LM259.

That vehicle was later seen in Newport, Rhode Island, that same Saturday afternoon, with a timestamp of roughly 3:28 p.m.

The sighting in Newport gave investigators a lead to work with as they tried to retrace the pair’s movements after they left the Wellesley area.

Once the appeal went out, it spread quickly across social media, with local outlets and missing persons pages sharing the request and urging anyone with information to reach out to authorities right away.

Wellesley Police asked that anyone who spotted Commodore or the Jeep contact them directly at 781-235-1212, rather than approach the vehicle themselves.

Community members reacted to the post in a variety of ways, with several offering prayers and well wishes for a safe return, while others reposted the details to widen the reach of the search.

Pages dedicated to missing persons cases, including a regional advocacy group, picked up the alert and pushed it out to their own followers in hopes that someone in the area might recognize the vehicle or the family.

Update Confirms Safe Return

Within a relatively short window, the situation reached a resolution. A follow-up post confirmed that both Commodore and her daughter, identified as Ayla, had been located and were safe.

The update thanked everyone who had shared the original alert, noting that the wide circulation of the post likely played a role in getting the word out quickly enough to bring the search to a positive conclusion.

Wellbeing checks like this one are typically initiated when family members, friends, or others who know an individual become concerned after losing contact or noticing unusual circumstances.

Police treat these situations seriously, especially when a young child is involved, and rely heavily on the public’s willingness to share information during the early hours of a search.

Cases like this also highlight how quickly local news pages and community groups can amplify a police request, often reaching far beyond a single town or county within hours.

While details on what prompted the original wellbeing check have not been made public, the outcome here is the one most residents were hoping for, with both Commodore and her daughter reported safe and the search brought to a close.

No further information has been released regarding the circumstances that led to the check, and it does not appear that any additional public action is being requested at this time.
