16 and Pregnant Star Whitney Purvis’ Son Weston Gosa Jr. Dies at 16

Fans of 16 and Pregnant are heartbroken after learning that Whitney Purvis’ oldest son, Weston Gosa Jr., has passed away at just 16 years old. The devastating news was shared by Whitney herself in an emotional Facebook post on June 2, 2025.

She wrote, “This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston has passed away. He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just don’t understand.” The message was filled with love and pain, as she shared her disbelief and sorrow. “I would do anything just to hold him,” she added.

Whitney Shares Her Heartbreak Online

Whitney’s posts included several photos of Weston, and some of her embracing him. One caption read, “Rest in Peace, my baby Weston. I love you forever, precious. I’ll never understand why life has to be so cruel.”

She described her son as perfect and said she was proud of the young man he was becoming. Her words gave a glimpse into the special bond they shared and how deeply his sudden death has shaken her world.

No Cause of Death Revealed Yet

While Whitney didn’t share what caused Weston’s death, his stepmom, Amy, gave some insight in her own Facebook post. Amy said that the family woke up around 7 a.m. and found Weston unresponsive. They immediately tried CPR and called for help, but paramedics were unable to revive him. He was taken to the hospital in Gordon County and was later pronounced dead.

Amy also mentioned that Weston had multiple health issues, including diabetes. The family has ordered an autopsy to help understand what led to his passing. “We are completely heartbroken and in shock,” Amy wrote. “It was so unexpected.”

Remembering Weston Gosa Jr.

Born on April 2, 2009, Weston was first introduced to the world during the first season of 16 and Pregnant, when Whitney and Weston Sr. were just teenagers themselves. Viewers watched as the young couple navigated the challenges of teen parenthood.

In later years, Whitney and Weston Sr. had another son, River, in 2014. Although the couple eventually split, both of their children remained a huge part of their lives, despite custody and legal issues.

Amy described Weston as “brilliant, smart, funny” and full of promise. “He was the most amazing son I could have asked for,” she said. “It doesn’t feel real.”

The entire family is asking for prayers and support as they try to process this unimaginable loss.
